Introduction to Healthcare Science serves as the foundational course and prerequisite for all offered Health Science Pathways.

• This course exposes students to the many careers offered in the field of Healthcare.

• Foundational knowledge for healthcare skills related to microbiology, infection control, basic life support, and first aid are initiated.

• It focuses on employability, communication, and technology skills necessary in the healthcare industry.

• The concepts of human growth and development, health, wellness, and preventative care are evaluated, as well as, the legal/ethical responsibilities of today’s healthcare workers.
